includes parts of the present States of Wyoming, Colorado, and

Oklahoma. Territorial and Indian reservation boundaries shown in

color. Also shows general locations of Indian tribes not assigned

to reservations, military posts, physical features, acres (some

approximate) in Indian reservations, and the route of the Santa

Fe Trail. List of "Notes from Indian Treaties Made in 1854"

briefly describing Indian land cessions. Note in lower left

corner of map signed by Commissioner of Indian Affairs states: "I

have examined this map in regard to the Indian Reserves and find

posts, and physical features. Note states "Heavy dotted lines

show Routes probably practicable." (Two other versions of this

map, together with a letter by Lt. Warren dated January 29, 1858,

concerning his explorations in Nebraska Territory are filed as RG

including those of earlier explorers. Note signed by Warren

and laminated separately. Part of the map showing Kansas has been
