The National Archives “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Records Collection” consists of records related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has received from federal agencies.

This web page provides a list of UAP records, with links to the National Archives Catalog. Click the link for each series to view a description of the records in the Catalog, as well as to view digital copies of our holdings. This page will be updated as NARA receives additional UAP records from federal agencies.

The Records Collection was created as a result of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. Find more information about the law and the Records Collection.

Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Records Collection

Background

The 2024 National Defense Authorization Act requires federal agencies to transfer digital copies of all UAP records to NARA. Agencies have begun transferring materials to NARA on a rolling basis. See AC Memo 04.2025: Transfer of Publicly Releasable Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Records

NARA issued guidance to federal agencies regarding identification, preparation, and transfer of UAP records into Record Group 615. NARA will continue to add to the UAP Records Collection (RG 615) and make the records available online through the National Archives Catalog on an ongoing, rolling basis as they are transferred from federal agencies.
