Pittsfield Records Center Closure
The Pittsfield Records Center will be permanently closed for records services starting April 15th, 2023. All records have been moved to other NARA FRCs.
Federal Agency Customers:
If you are a federal agency customer of the Federal Records Centers Program (FRCP) and need to either:
- Initiate a reference request for record(s) from a records transfer previously stored at Pittsfield,
- Refile temporarily withdrawn records that were previously held at Pittsfield, or
- Interfile additional documents into an existing file folder from a transfer previously stored at Pittsfield
then please follow the guidance below:
Department of Veterans Affairs VAXC Requests: When entering a reference request, please select FRC - Lenexa as the destination FRC. Most of Pittsfield's XC records transfers have been relocated to the Lenexa FRC. You can contact them directly at email@example.com for further assistance.
General Reference Requests: If you are an ARCIS Customer Portal User, attempt to place your request via the portal. If you are unable to locate your intended records transfer, please contact the ARCIS Help Desk (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you are not an ARCIS Customer Portal User and are unsure of where to send the request, please contact your agency’s Records Officer or your agency's NARA Federal Records Account Manager for assistance.
Refiles and Interfiles: If you are an ARCIS Customer Portal user, look up the records transfer number for the intended refile or interfile. Note the FRC in which the transfer is stored. Send the refile or interfile to the address of the listed records center. If you are not an ARCIS Customer Portal User and are unsure of where to send the records/materials, please contact your agency’s Records Officer or your agency's NARA Federal Records Account Manager for assistance.
If you are a member of the public seeking records, please consult the Archives.gov website for further guidance.
