Hawaii Statehood, August 21, 1959

S. Res. 13 of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaii

The student government at the University of Hawaii was very active in promoting Hawaiian statehood. Shortly after the Hawaii statehood bill was approved by Congress the students sent this letter to Speaker of the House Sam Rayburn (D-TX) expressing their gratitude to Congress for finally allowing Hawaii to become a state.
