REED London: Creating Collaborative Environments for Editorial Publication

Records of Early English Drama (REED) is an international scholarly project that provides online access to historical materials gathered from legal, ecclesiastical, civic, political, and personal documents spanning the years 1100-1642, as well as bibliographical materials essential for the study of performance, theatre, secular music, and other communal entertainment in Medieval and Early Modern Britain. The REED London cooperative is a collaboration of scholars based in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with Bucknell University serving as institutional host. Other institutional partners include the University of Guelph (Canada), the University of Toronto, and the Canadian Writing Research Collaboratory (CWRC).

During the grant period, the REED London cooperative will develop and extend its collaborative online editorial environment and publication platform, expand the functionality of the CWRC, and work to make its materials more broadly discoverable and interoperable with other projects focusing on historical research and study. To this end, the REED London digital edition publishing cooperative promises to serve as an important experiment for other publishing cooperatives of historical and literary editions.
