Memorandum To Federal Records Management Contacts: 2022 BRIDG Meeting Calendar

NARA’s Agency Services Bimonthly Records and Information Discussion Group (BRIDG) meeting is a public forum where anyone involved in federal records management is welcome to join in discussions of the latest records management developments with NARA and other federal agencies. Agency Services is comprised of the Office of the Chief Records Officer for the U.S. Government, the Federal Records Centers Program, the Information and Security Oversight Office, the National Declassification Center, and the Office of Government Information Services. BRIDG is an opportunity for NARA and federal agencies to share records management experiences, best practices, and lessons learned  and ask questions about the various topics presented. Information about BRIDG can be found on NARA’s website at: https://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/meetings/index.html#bridg

For fiscal year 2022, all BRIDG meetings will be held virtually. The meeting dates will be:

  • December 14, 2021, Tuesday, 1:30 to 3:00 pm Eastern
  • February 23, 2022, Wednesday, 1:30 to 3:00 pm Eastern
  • April 20, 2022, Wednesday, 1:30 to 3:00 pm Eastern
  • June 14, 2022, Tuesday, 1:30 to 3:00 pm Eastern
  • August 17, 2022, Wednesday, 1:30 to 3:00 pm Eastern
  • October 18, 2022, Tuesday, 1:30 to 3:00 pm Eastern

Starting in December, BRIDG will begin at 1:30 pm Eastern Time. The meetings will last approximately 90 minutes. Hopefully this time will work well for everyone, including members of the federal records management community in later time zones.

In addition to attending the meeting live and asking questions, NARA encourages agencies to participate in BRIDG by presenting best practices or lessons learned in records and information management. If you are interested in presenting, please email rm.communications@nara.gov. If you have a suggestion for a BRIDG meeting topic, please send us those ideas as well. We want to make sure the discussion topics are relevant to you.

Our BRIDG production team members are continually looking for ways to improve the BRIDG customer experience. By moving to 100% virtual meetings, we’ve engaged with a wider audience but we’ve lost some of the personal connections we made when we met face-to-face. In FY 22, we will experiment with a few options to provide opportunities to interact directly with speakers in virtual post-BRIDG meetings. Please be on the lookout for future emails about those opportunities.

There has been a lot of change in the past few years. We’re capitalizing on what we’ve learned works well in a new virtual environment. We will continue to challenge ourselves and keep changing for the better. One thing that’s not changing is our commitment to engaging and communicating with you.
