Record Group 57: Office Files of Investigator-in-Charge James H. Hale, 1936 - 1966 (57-5)

This series includes correspondence, memoranda, orders, notices, maps, newspaper clippings, and photographs of oil wells and drilling operations. The records include investigative and background material on directional drilling ("slant hole cases") and some aerial photos of East Texas. There are copies of legislation, Executive orders, and other material relating to enforcement of the Connally Act.

 

Record Group 75: Aerial Photographs of Osage County, 1936 (NRF-75OS-248)

This series includes one set reference photographs and several sets of enlargements of photographs taken in conjunction with a survey of the Verdigris River Watershed conducted in 1936. Some of the photographs have been annotated with the boundaries of allotments and the location of oil and gas wells.

 

Record Group 75: Aerial Photographs of Osage County, 1937 - 1945 (NRF-75OS-247)

This series includes photographs taken by the Aero Exploration Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Some of the photographs have been annotated with the boundaries of allotments and the locations of oil and gas wells.

 

Record Group 75: Land Ownership Case Files, 1901 - 1986 (075-SHA68A)

This series includes original agreements, secretarial orders, and correspondence related to the allotment and assignment of land to the "Unrestricted" Iowa, Mexican-Kickapoo, Sac and Fox, Citizen Potawatomi, Absentee-Shawnee, and Certificate Citizen Potawatomi. The records include allotment or estate record cards, appraisal reports, transcripts of testimony taken by examiners of inheritance, invitations to bid on land and reports on sale of land (form 5-110n), determination of heirs forms (5-107f), vouchers and receipts, and some abstracts of title. There are some aerial photographs and maps annotated with abstracts of title. There are some aerial photographs and maps annotated with the location of tracts.

 

Record Group 75: Records Relating to Irrigation Projects, 1960 - 1964 (NRFA-075-AN30)

This series includes classification maps and schedules of land in the Washita River Basin, land classification summaries, evaluation reports on land acceptable and unacceptable for irrigation project, aerial photographs, and reports on expected crop increases.

 

Record Group 76: Aerial Photographs, 1926 - 1980 (76-19)

This series consists of black and white aerial photographs that were taken along the United States-Mexico border from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean. The finding aid for the series is available at NARA at Fort Worth.

 

Record Group 77: Basic Topographic Data Files, ca. 1950 - 1964 (FW8)

This series contains original computation sheets, control notes, index maps, aerial prints and negatives, charts, maps, flood control cross sections, and related records containing background material and basic technical data dealing with military and civilian construction projects along various river basins.

 

Record Group 77: Denison Dam Real Estate Acquisition and Disposal Files, 1941 - 1942 (T4)

This series includes signed offers to convey land, field inspection sheets, tract plats and appraisal summaries, aerial photographs with plats marked, inventories of buildings located on tracts, and related documents dealing with property being purchased for construction projects.

 

Record Group 103: Disposal Case Files for Texas Surplus Properties, ca. 1942 - 1955 (103-10)

This series includes correspondence, declarations of surplus property (form SPB 5), appraisal reports, narrative and statistical progress reports, some title opinions and abstracts of title, copies of deeds and various documents filed in land condemnation proceedings in federal or state courts, lists of tracts with legal descriptions of land to be sold, inventories of buildings and property, and plat maps. There are a few photographs of houses and other improvements and some aerial photographs of tracts. The bulk of the correspondence is between officials of the Federal Land Bank in Houston, Texas which was responsible for disposal of the property under provisions of the Surplus Property Act of 1944 (58 Stat. 765) and officials of the Farm Credit Mortgage Corporation, the War Assets Administration, the Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the General Services Administration, the Department of Justice, the War Department, agencies of state and local governments, previous owners, veterans claiming preference on right to purchase, and other potential buyers. The case files pertain to the sale as surplus agricultural or forest land of tracts located on military installations in Texas such as training camps. The files contain a great deal of information about the acquisition and subsequent sale of the land but very little information about the structures on the installations or the activities that were conducted there. The finding aid for the series is available at NARA at Fort Worth.

This series includes correspondence, memoranda, TWX's (teletypewriter exchanges), minutes, reports, drawings, draft and final versions of publications, procedures, press releases, reports on press conferences, and photographs and slides. This series is partially digitized.
