Carter Family Papers: Gubernatorial Audio Visual Files, 1969 - 1974

This series contains black and white and color photographs depicting Jimmy Carter's term as Governor of Georgia. The series also contains some photos from the 1970 gubernatorial campaign as well. Also includes a few recordings of Carter's speeches, and addresses as Governor.

Naval Photographic Center Collection (Carter Administration): Films Relating to White House Events, 1977 - 1981

This series includes films of official White House events such as foreign and domestic presidential trips, State visits from foreign leaders, State dinners, press conferences, speeches, bill-signings, swearing-in ceremonies, photo opportunities and miscellaneous routine presidential activities. Significant events include the Camp David peace negotiations, the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty signing ceremony, the SALT II signing ceremony, the State visit of Pope John Paul II and the State visit of China's Vice-Premier Deng Xiaoping. White House Staff Photographers Collection: Jimmy Carter's Presidential Photographs , 1/20/1977 - 1/20/1981

This series consists of 600,000 color and black and white photographs of Jimmy Carter, his family and staff while he was president. Arranged numerically and then chronologically, the collection documents the day-to-day activities of President and Mrs. Carter. This series also includes shots of senior White House aides such as Hamilton Jordan, Jody Powell and Zbigniew Brzezinski; cabinet members and cabinet meetings; President Carter's foreign and domestic trips and state visits by foreign leaders. Significant events such as the Panama Canal Treaty signing ceremony, Camp David Mid-East Summit and Treaty Signing ceremony, SALT II, and the visit Pope John Paul II are especially well documented. Photos of Carter family members, particularly Amy Carter, also are included in the collection. However, few photos were taken of the family in the private residence of the White House. Contact sheets of the negatives are available in the research room for reference use. There is no name or place index for the collection. Researchers may use the Presidential Daily Diary Name Index to determine dates of meetings with the President. The finding aid for this series is available at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library.
