Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
During Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 and FY 2015, OGIS reviewed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) compliance at six DHS components and issued reports. In FY 2017, OGIS issued a report on the DHS Privacy Office, which has department-wide responsibility for supporting FOIA implementation and customer service and providing oversight.
OGIS compliance assessment reports generally include recommendations to improve the FOIA program. We follow up on these recommendations 120 days after our report is published. Click on the component to read the report's Executive Summary, download the report, and access documentation regarding our 120-day follow-up.
