Record Group 77: Civil Works Project Drawings, 1897 - 1999

This series consists of plans, engineering drawings, blueprints, engineering and topographical maps, and aerial photographs of civil works projects and surrounding areas in Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The materials relate to flood control channels, locks, dams, bridges, coast defenses, rivers, and other structures as-built by the Pittsburgh District Office of the Army Corps of Engineers. The project sites include but are not limited to: Loyalhanna Creek, Clarion River, Crooked Creek Lake, Little Conemaugh River, Allegheny River, Ohio River, Monongahela River, Youghiogheny River, Tygart Lake, Turtle Creek, Neville Island, Grand River, Cheat River, Mahoning River, Beaver River, Shenango River, and Tionesta Reservoir. Record Group 77: Civil Works Project Files, 1938 - 1993

This series consists of records collected by the district office staff as a result of civil engineering projects. The series includes, but is not limited to, job estimates; foundation reports; correspondence with contractors; job specifications; contracts; progress reports; blueprints and construction drawings; field notebooks; data on concrete tests; photographs of project sites; geological data reports; river and harbor surveys; cost estimates; and inspection reports. The projects typically include dredging of rivers, creeks, and harbors; flood control; removing obstructions to navigation; bridge building and maintenance; dam building and maintenance; and relocations of roads, cemeteries, and railroad lines. The projects sites in this series are located in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The sites include: Barnegat Bay and Inlet, New Jersey; Broadkill Beach, Delaware; Absecon Bay and Inlet, New Jersey; Atlantic Ocean; Beltzville Lake, Pennsylvania; Chesapeake and Delaware Canal; Rancocas Creek, New Jersey; Schuylkill River, Pennsylvania; Delaware River; Prompton Lake, Pennsylvania; Lehigh River, Pennsylvania; the harbor at Wilmington, Delaware; Manayunk Canal, Pennsylvania; Darby Creek, Pennsylvania; Mispillion River, Delaware; Manasquan Inlet, New Jersey; Lewes and Rehoboth Canal, Delaware; Intracoastal Waterway, New Jersey; Oldmans Creek, New Jersey; Murderkill River, Delaware; Mantua Creek, New Jersey; Assawoman Canal, Delaware; and Neshaminy Creek, Pennsylvania.

Record Group 77: Photographs Relating to Harbor Defenses of the Delaware, 1941 - 1942

This series consists of ground and aerial photographs of coastal defense fortification construction projects. The photographs are of Fort Miles, Delaware Bay, and Cape May, New Jersey.

This series consists of project operation and maintenance basic files of civil works projects and surrounding areas in Ohio, New York, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, particularly in Washington and Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The records include, but are not limited to, photographs, maps, memorandums, instructions, plans, manuals, specifications, correspondence, architectural drawings, forms, and inspection reports. The records provide information on rivers, construction projects, flood control measures, dams, dredging, reservoirs, and more. This series consists of correspondence, memorandums, reports, press releases, requests, telegrams, leases, offers to sell and buy land, photographs, maps, blueprints, questionnaires, contracts, bids, periodicals and other publications, and other records regarding the general administration of parks and areas in Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Record Group 181: Information Files, 1801 - 1995

This series consists of information kept by the Public Relations department of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. The files contain photographs of ship construction and aerial views of the shipyard; a proposal for a historical museum at the shipyard; telephone directories; and maps of the shipyard.

Record Group 181: Records Relating to the History of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, 1801 - 1994

This series consists of histories prepared by the Public Relations office of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. The files contain land plat maps of the shipyard; architectural drawings of its buildings; telephone directories; press releases and correspondence between the shipyard and the United States Senate. There are files of the closure ceremony; lists of all vessels which were built at the shipyard; and motivational posters designed to boost morale and efficiency.

Record Group 255: Solid Controlled Orbital Utility Test (SCOUT) Project Records, 1956 - 1995

This series consists of reports and other records of the NASA Solid Controlled Orbital Utility Test (SCOUT) Project. The records consist primarily of specifications, design information releases, correspondence, procedures, manuals, reports, investigations, log books, photographs, motion picture film, and various studies and test result papers dealing with rockets and satellites. Many of the reports concern different systems relating to the SCOUT project. There are a number of preliminary, pre-flight, and final flight reports. Most of the work occurred at the Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, but there are also financial and operational records relating to the San Marco test site near Malindi, Kenya. This series is partially digitized.
